A Bangladeshi company has invented a fabric that kills the coronavirus, along with other viruses and bacteria, in 120 seconds (2 minutes)! It has been named ‘Corona Block Fabric‘. The manufacturer is Zaber and Zubair Fabrics (Z&Z Fabrics)।
They say the fabric can be used to make every kind of clothing — shirts, trousers and jackets — as well as personal protective equipment such as masks and PPE. Two Swiss organisations helped them with the innovation, but production is entirely in Bangladesh. The fabric is hygienic and completely free of side effects. Once any virus or bacterium comes near it, 99.99% of the germs are destroyed within 2 minutes!
That is not all. The fabric keeps its effectiveness through 20 to 30 washes, which makes it fairly durable as a barrier to viruses and bacteria. The company has said the price may be 20% higher than ordinary fabric. But at this critical moment for the country they are ready to supply PPE and masks made from this fabric to hospitals without taking any profit at all. They have even obtained certification from international standards bodies in the United States and Europe for marketing the fabric internationally.
Another company has already prepared to produce masks from their fabric. It is hoped that these will be within reach of the public before Eid. Alongside that, arrangements will be made to produce clothing from this ‘Corona Block Fabric' and sell it online.
